Why I started blogging.

Current mood: contemplative

I guess some of this writing may be a different type of an outlet from Journaling (that's obvious I know but indulge me for a moment.) I haven't done that since 9/10/01. Ironic? maybe? I had just started a new journal, I've never been great at journaling but sometimes it seemed to help to pour out the thoughts in my head. It made space for new things you know?

Anyway after 9/11 I just couldn't bring myself to write, I was more concerned with just living everyday. I didn't know anyone who was hurt or killed but it was a little freaky, my supervisor from my job at the Post had been on top of one of the towers the day before (her daughter also lived/lives nearby so I was worried for my boss.)

So as I sat watching it all take place through the news stations that morning it was just an odd hollow feeling that formed, and suddenly I didn't have anything to write. Funny I still have that journal with one filled page. I think about picking it up again, I know I will sometime. To start with I may just print out and scrap book some of this into it kind of. (Not that I'm into scrap booking, for all the crafty things I like and do that isn't one of them.)

Things that have happened since I was born that I will remember where I was when they took place... I was in Government class Mr. Malapei's (sp?) when the space shuttle Challenger exploded, I was at home when the first plane crashed into the twin towers - I watched as the rest unfolded on the news, I was at work when the space shuttle Columbia broke up over Texas. These are some of the big events that stick out in my mind, I probably ought to remember where I was when the "wall" came down. I know I was in Pocatello working towards my Graphic Arts degree when Desert Storm began, I was really upset about that I had a lot of friends still in the military, some should of been getting out and coming home a short time from that but it extended their times.

Well just a few mussings from my mind today...
to all reading; what has affected you? what will you remember?

Till later, best wishes to you all and TGIF
See you later allig8tors.
