Three weeks and counting...

Current mood: thankful
Category: Life

I had surgery approximately three weeks ago, I am feeling wonderful now. I had my second follow up appointment this past Thursday, I am on track and have been released from "light duty."

I celebrated my release from light duty Friday by starting my day early catching up on some needed cleaning and touch ups around the house. I followed that up by "borrowing" several of the neighbors kids for the day (they were out of school for Good Friday) we had a fun day of video games, meals together and painting pottery at Picasso's Cup. At the end of the day we even snagged a couple parents to come over and join us with the kids for dinner, it was a nice finish to the day.

I love kids, their laughter is infectious, and my neighbors children are sweet kids, I enjoy having them around.

Today I went to the driving range with Cat, I was working on my slice. I have nearly worked that out of my swing, it's all in the grip. I also practiced a little pitching, chipping and finally putting before calling it a day. It was a clear windy day the temperature was around 55-60 degrees while we were out but it felt good. I have to admit though that after the past day or two of increased activity I am feeling a few muscles that were neglected during the last three weeks, it is a welcome feeling though and I look forward to each new muscle twinge as I get back to exerting myself.

I intend to practice two of my three pie entries (mixed fruit, and a jazzed up version of a chocolate cream pie) for the National Pie Championships (April 21st in Celebration FL) tomorrow and do a little more around the house. When my work around here was derailed for the surgery I had been in the midst of changing some plantings in our yard, with this patch of cooler weather tomorrow morning might be a great day to take out the Carolina Jessamin and/or the Plumbago (they've become overgrown and unruly) in the back yard.

This is just a little glimpse into my 'back to reality world,' a little information about what I enjoy.

As for the clinical results after surgery, I appear to be healing well, I may have a radiological test in three months. The doctor would have me do that so they can take a look-see and make sure they took care of the "problem." In the meanwhile I will have a test between now and then to check some more chick parts, nothing to worry over, it's all good. A needle stick some meds, a needle stick a bit later and done. About two months from now I may wind up on the med they use in the test for a little hyper production in some chick parts and if all goes well a little help from my honey, wink wink, and badda bing nine months later pitter patter of little feet. Or maybe I should say badda bing and the squeels and cries of a cradle bound infant, pitter patter takes a while you know. wink wink.

So life is grand and the outlook is beautiful, here's hoping for sunny skies and laughter abound in your corner of the world.

See you later allig8tors...

p.s. did you know alligators can climb fences? well chain link or so I'm told, who knew.
